非営利団体レインフォレスト・パートナーシップ (Rainforest Partnership)は、2022年10月29日に東京・渋谷の100BANCHで「森の映画－Films for the Forest」上映会を開催します。この「森の映画」短編映画祭は、ストーリーテリングの力を使って、世界の人々の森林に対する関心を高め、森林のための人々の行動を喚起することを目的に実施されているコンペティションで、2010年にスタートしたものです。今回が日本での初めての開催となり、受賞した11作品が上映されます。
レインフォレスト・パートナーシップ2007年に設立されて非営利団体で、米国オースチンに拠点を置き、ペルーとエクアドルの熱帯雨林を保護と再生しを目指しています。

10月29日のイベントは、日英二ヶ国語で行われ、Films for the Forest TokyoコーディネーターのDeny Majikina(デニー・マジキナ)による紹介のもと、15時から20時45分まで開催。2020年と2022年の「Films for the Forest」コンペティションの受賞作品を中心に上映を行い、上映時間は休憩をはさんで約100分の予定です。また、レインフォレスト・パートナーシップ創設者兼CEOのニヤンタ・スペルマンとペルーカントリーディレクターのファニー・コルネホによるビデオプレゼンテーションや、「Re-Member」（2022年短編アニメーション部門受賞作）の監督である映画監督の小波津陽が現地にて登壇する予定です。上映後には、ラテンをテーマにした音楽とフード・ドリンク(チケットには含まれません)の販売によるネットワーキングイベントを開催します。

Rainforest Partnership – an NPO that conserves and regenerates tropical rainforests in Peru and Ecuador – will host a screening of “Films for the Forest” on October 29, 2022 at 100BANCH in Shibuya. The juried short film collection features 11 short films and uses the power of creative storytelling to convene, empower, and activate global audiences to take action on behalf of the world’s forests. This is the first time a Film for the Forest event screening is being held in Japan.

The bilingual event (Japanese/English) will run from 15:00 until 20:45, with an introduction by Films for the Forest Tokyo coordinator Deny Majikina. The screening will feature winning films from both the 2020 and 2022 Films for the Forest competition, and will last approximately 100 minutes with a short intermission. The event will also include brief video presentations by Rainforest Partnership founder and CEO Niyanta Spelman and Peru Country Director Fanny Cornejo as well as in-person presentations by filmmaker Yo Kohatsu, director of “Re-Member” (winning film in the animated shorts category, 2022). A networking event will follow the screening, with Latin-themed music and food (vegatarian option) and drinks for sale (not included in ticket).
